Safeguarding Personal Information
The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) is dedicated to upholding the privacy and confidentiality of all personal information entrusted to us. We are committed to protecting this information in compliance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), R.S.O. 1990, c. M.56. MFIPPA also grants individuals the right to access and request corrections to their own personal information and to request access to general records maintained by BGCDSB.
How We Collect Personal Information
BGCDSB ensures that any collection of personal information is authorized under MFIPPA. When collecting personal information, BGCDSB provides individuals with a clear notice outlining:
- The legal basis for collecting the information;
- The intended purpose(s) for using the information; and
- Contact information for a BGCDSB representative who can respond to questions or concerns about the collection.
Our Policies and Guidelines
In addition to adhering to the requirements of MFIPPA, BGCDSB manages privacy and information access through its internal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Policy and supporting procedures. These ensure the consistent and responsible handling of personal information across the organization.
