Capital Priority Process: New Grade 9–12 Catholic High School – Owen Sound

The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) is committed to delivering a state-of-the-art Catholic secondary school to serve students in the Owen Sound area. The following phased approach outlines the development of our new Grade 9–12 Catholic high school.

Milestone:

April 2022 – The Ministry of Education announced $36,097,630 in capital funding to support the construction of a new 1,012-pupil place Grade 9–12 Catholic Secondary School in Owen Sound.

     MPP Bill Walker announces additional $16.3 million for St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School replacement.

Milestone:

May 2022 – BGCDSB launched a community ThoughtExchange to gather input on the future utilization of three existing Owen Sound Catholic schools:

  • Notre Dame Catholic School

  • St. Basil Catholic School

  • St. Mary’s Catholic School

Milestone:

June 2025 – BGCDSB received Ministry of Education approval for Land Priorities Funding and successfully acquired land for the new high school.
