It is both an honour and a privilege to stand before you today as Chair of the Board. I want to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude to my fellow trustees for placing your confidence in me, and to every member of our dedicated staff for the incredible work you do every day. This role is not about one person, it is about all of us working together to serve students, families, and our communities.

WALKERTON, ON – This week, the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) successfully hosted its annual Trades Fair at Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton, bridging the gap between classroom learning and the workforce.

The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) has determined its leadership for the upcoming term, announcing the re-election of Trustee Lori Di Castri as Chair and Trustee Linda Strader as Vice-Chair for 2025-2026.

Keep your children engaged and active on upcoming Professional Development days! The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board is hosting fun-filled PD Day Camps for students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 6.

We are pleased to share that there is no longer the potential threat of strike action impacting local school bus services in the foreseeable future.

BGCDSB is actively monitoring a potential labour disruption involving one of our school bus providers, First Student Owen Sound and Kincardine.

Attention Grade 12 students! Earn 4 dual credits and become a Level 1 Carpenter apprentice with the OYAP dual credit program at Georgian College (Owen Sound).

We are reaching out to you today regarding an important initiative focused on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within our school board. We are currently in the process of developing a shared vision, mission, guardrails, and principles for the responsible use of AI, and your input is invaluable.

Here are a few options for rewriting that message for the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board, keeping the same core message about the BusPlanner Parent Portal being down and how you'll communicate delays/cancellations today.

Option 1: Direct and Informative
The BusPlanner Parent Portal is currently experiencing an outage this morning, which means families won't be able to check the site for school bus delays or cancellations, and automated notifications will not be sent.

For today, please check our social media channels regularly, as we will be posting all school bus cancellations and delays here as soon as we receive the information.

Option 2: Focus on the Temporary Communication Plan
We want to let our families know that the system that powers the BusPlanner Parent Portal for tracking school bus delays and cancellations is currently unavailable. This affects both the website monitoring and the subscriber notification service.
