Public Speakers Win Competitions

Congratulations to four Sacred Heart students who have been competing in the 2007 Legion and Lion’s Club Public Speaking competitions in the region. Senior students Megan Wendorf and John Inglis competed in both the Lions and Legion events while grade 9 students Sarah Johnson and Emmaline Morin competed in the Legion Events.
Sarah Johnson earned first place at the local, and then the regional, Lion’s Club Public Speaking Competition (competitors from Goderich up through Tobermory and over to Grand Valley). Sarah advanced to represent this district and SHHS at the Provincial Competition in Toronto and captured the Provincial Bronze Medal. Way to go Sarah!

Megan Wendorf won the local and next level competitions at both the Legion and Lions Club events, performing very well at all events. In all, she represented Sacred Heart at 5 events.

John Inglis performed well at four competitions, usually finishing just behind Meg. Way to go! Emmaline Morin was runner up at her Lions Club competition. Congratulations to each of you and we encourage you to keep developing this awesome skill.
