Jr. Girls Win Tourney

On November 6th, the junior girls basketball team travelled to St. Mary's High School for a day long basketball tournament.

The girls played their first game at 10:30am against F.E. Madill. They took an early lead and were able to keep it, and beat F.E. Madill, 33 - 14. There next game was against St. Mary's.

St. Mary's put up a good fight and gave Sacred Heart a run for their money, but the Heart prevailed, and one 46 - 44.

The girls approached their final game rested and eager to play. Everyone had one of their best games, which ended in a victory of 43 - 34 against Kincardine District.

Everyone contributed to a wonderful day in different ways. Catherine Rodgers scored 20 points, and Katrina Schurter and Nicole Bonnert both scored over 35 points throughout the day. Paige Roberts showed excellent ball handling skills throughout the day, as point guard. Vanessa Goets gave everything she had defensively in all the games, as did Katelyn Latour, Sarah Pritchard,

Sarah Moore, Katie Rehkopf, and Danielle Watson. Jennifer Schafer excelled in one of our challenges during the day by sinking 9 out of 10 foul shots. Alayna Becker, Laura Vanderwall and Shelby Zettler played well offensively and helped the team in their own ways.

Great job girls!!
