Italy 2007

Well, I’m sure you have heard from various persons that our trip to Italy was nothing short of FANTASTIC! All of us left with high hopes and packed bags to meet up with
Cynthia Venables, our Ellison tour guide, who provided us with ample information on everything from locking our money belts to statistics from Italy’s illustrious history. We
loved touring the Duomo in Milan, perched on Juliet’s balcony in Verona, dined in the Tuscan hills, rode gondolas in Venice, rode bicycles in Lucca, climbed the mountains to Assisi and Subiaco and prayed with the Pope in Rome. Our students spent an amazing 8 hours in Triduum services over the weekend, culminating in a gathering with THOUSANDS of pilgrims in St. Peter’s Square. Friendships were formed (some of the Romantic kind) and all the students were exemplary in their behaviour. We are forever grateful to our parents, teachers, school administration and school board officials
who continue to support our endeavours and learn outside the classroom walls. A presentation of our trip will be made at the monthly school board meeting in May. A very
special thank you to Mr. Hicks and Mrs. Stanislow for their excellent supervision and contribution in making the trip a success. SHHS know how to do Europe!
