HEROIC TALENT
AT THE HEART'S CABARET

Another school year is in full swing, and the students at The Heart prepared diligently for their annual Cabaret. It is held every holiday season showcasing a myriad of student talent. This year's cabaret was held Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 7:30 PM. Our play entitled "Heroes Wanted" was an entertaining show; filled with laughter and excitement as our Sub Heroes prove that everyone has the potential to be truly heroic. “Heroes Wanted was entirely student written and produced. This year's writers and producers, Jake Detzler and Elisha Holst also organized both the technical and performance aspects of the show.

"Heroes Wanted" featured the amazing talents of our very own students, including vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, and both the senior and grade 9 school bands. The high caliber of performances of recent years, such as former student Anthony Black who recently won first place at the Western Fair in London, and will soon be performing at the CNE in Toronto, will certainly be demonstrated once again this year with a new roster of talent.

True to the super hero story, "“Heroes Wanted" intertwines a plot full of twists, turns and suspense with a cast of heroic super heroes and villains. When the balance between Yin and Yang is disrupted by the evil nemesis, the Mind, the twins realize their unique time stopping power can be used to rule the world. In an attempt to save the world from ultimate domination from Yin and Yang, the Super Heroes are called in and thwart their corruption, stripping the twins from both their power and memory. To celebrate their success, the Super Heroes throw a party filled with talent and entertainment. Meanwhile, under the 'careful' watch of the Sub Heroes, Yin and Yang are accidentally released back into the world, leaving them vulnerable to the Mind and his team of evil villains ... are the Super Heroes able to foil the Mind's plans yet again? Or is the world doomed to fall under the evil power of the villains? The answer will be revealed at this year's cabaret.

The show ran Wednesday, Nov. 28th at 7:30 PM. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Admission prices are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 students and seniors, $3.00 for children 12 and under.
