Running a House League Program

  1. It is important to involve as many students as possible in your program. Thus, it is up to the Athletic Representative that your program be organized and varied.
  2. The importance of participation and sportsmanship are the important emphasis at this level.
  3. Awards should not be the primary aim. Sportsmanship and participation are.
  4. Try to involve both Juniors and other individuals who normally aren't exposed to the inter-school programs.
  5. Try to ensure that house league teams are equal. This will avoid one team dominating right from the start.
  6. Be sure to enter a truly representative house-league team into the County Competitions.
  7. If you do not have a full roster of players for a tournament for house league teams, coaches will select the necessary number of players at random from the rest of the league to attend the county final.
