A Team Prayer

Teach us O God, to be mindful of the needs of all, not just the athletically gifted. Let our system be truly a "tournament of friends." We recall your work in Ecclesiastes 9:11 "The race is not to the swift, not the battle to the strong."

Teach us O Holy Spirit to have a balance between competition within oneself and group competition. "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but only one receives the prize (1 Cor. 9:24).

In all things, let us Lord, know what our Christian priorities are. "I press towards the mark for the prize of the Calling of God in Jesus Christ." (Philemon 3:14)

Help us Holy Spirit to teach well. "Train up a child in the way he or she should go, and when he or she is old, there will be no departure from your training." (Book of Proverbs)
