Renewing the Promise, the future of catholic education, an evening with bishop crosby

The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board is hosting its 3rd annual Bishop’s Dinner with Bishop Douglas Crosby.  Renewing the Promise – The Future of Catholic Education is scheduled for Thursday, April 5th at the Neustadt Community Hall.

The evening will feature students sharing stories of how they have used innovation and design thinking to approach real world problems in the local and global community. Join us for a celebration of student talent and a glimpse into some of the ways our youth are becoming creative and holistic thinkers, responsible citizens, lifelong learners & discerning believers.

Guests will enjoy a full course dinner catered by Chef Alex Petter, entertainment, silent and live auctions, and student displays and presentations. All funds raised will support new Canadians in Bruce and Grey counties.

Tickets are $40.00 each, and can be purchased online,
through the school, or by calling 519-364-5820 x268.

March's Virtue is Compassioncompassion wordle

Compassion is following the example of Jesus the healer, who acted with deep care and concern for the people who were hurt or troubled. When we are compassionate we reach out in love to assist those who need our help.

As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience.
1 Colossians 3.12

Dear God,

During this Lenten season, I pray in a special way

For all people who need the healing and compassion of Your Son, Jesus.

Help me to be His hands, His eyes, His ears, and His heart to them.

Inspire me always to do for others what I would want them to do for me.

Guide me to learn about the needs of our world.

May Jesus’ Spirit shine through me in my service to the poor and needy.

Public Consultation:

A new vision for student transportation

The Ministry of Education is interested in knowing how student transportation services can be improved to better serve students, families and communities.

Your feedback is very important in providing an understanding of what’s important to you when it comes to student transportation.  Your feedback will help to provide guidance for future policy development such as funding and accountability.

To help prompt feedback, the following are some of the questions:

  • How can we work together with our student transportation partners (such as, school boards, transportation consortia, school bus operators) to make our system more responsive to the needs of students and parents?
  • Does Ontario’s student transportation system take into account the diverse needs of different groups of students?
  • How can we enhance safety and well-being for students using transportation services?
  • What sort of innovations and partnerships could improve the efficiency and affordability of student transportation?
  • What can be done to support the recruitment and retention of well-trained school bus drivers?

A report on the results of this consultation will be provided in fall 2018.

Closing date: March 29, 2018
