Walking Forward Together in Grace
link to online ticket salesThe Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board is hosting its 2nd annual Bishop’s Dinner.  Walking Forward Together in Grace – An evening with Bishop Miehm to support new Canadians in Bruce Grey is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17th at the Hanover Columbus Centre.

Last year we held a similar event, and the support from the community was outstanding. We were able to raise just over $10,000, which helped support local groups who sponsored refugee families, and provided a substantial donation to the ESL (English as a second language) program that is accessed by many new Canadians in our area.

This year our event will include a full course dinner, silent and live auctions, student art displays, entertainment, and sharing the stories of those we have welcomed over the past year.  All funds raised will be distributed to families in Bruce and Grey, and to support the ESL program as it continues its work.

We require the added support of our friends in our communities to make this event a success. At this time we are seeking donations for our live and silent auctions. All donations will be greatly appreciated. All donors will be recognized for their contributions throughout the auction and during our event.

Tickets are $35.00 each, and can be purchased online at Cash donations also accepted online for those unable to attend the event. (Tax receipts will be issued for the full amount of all cash donations, and for $10.00 for each ticket purchased)

To donate to the auctions, or for more information, please contact Doreen Schultz at the Catholic Education Centre, 519-364-5820 X268.

FORGIVENESSforgiveness wordle

Being forgiving is giving someone another chance after they have done something wrong, knowing that everyone makes mistakes.  It is making amends instead of taking revenge.  In the words of St. Teresa of Calcutta, “It is by being forgiving that one is forgiven.”

And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another,  as God in Christ has forgiven you.
                                               (Ephesians 4.32)

Dear God,
During these most sacred days of Easter,
I thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son
to die and rise from the dead, so that our sins could be forgiven.
As I have received forgiveness, guide me to follow the example of Jesus
By forgiving those who hurt me.
Teach me also to take responsibility;
Seek forgiveness,
And repair the harm when I have hurt someone else.
Help me to walk in the Spirit of Jesus,
Working for reconciliation and peace
Within my family, school and community.
