SHHS Outdoor Ed Students Canoe Isaac Lake
Posted on 06/02/2011

On May 31 thirty- three students enrolled in the Outdoor Education program at Sacred Heart High School , under the direction of their teacher Bob Legace, ventured to Isaac Lake. Once at the lake students engaged in refining their canoeing skills. Various strokes were refined, as well as proper techniques for righting canoes. Students demonstrated basic core camping skills in setting up a tent, water filtration, stove operation, bear bags and proper disposal of both human waste and grey water. Special thanks to Mark and Suzy Gaasenbeek for volunteering their time and sharing their expertise with the class.
