What Makes Us Different?

Sometimes easy to sense or to feel but difficult to articulate in a way that conveys the meaning behind the words, the following describes a few key ways the Catholic education system offers something different:

  • Catholic schools recognize God as creator and source of life. Prayer and scripture are taught and integrated into school life.
  • Through our common beliefs and values, we are able to support and enrich our growth as a faith community.
  • Parish priests and the parish family are part of the school community. Clergy visits are encouraged.
  • In partnership with the parish, students are prepared for special milestones in the faith life of a Catholic, ie: Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
  • Chaplains are available to high school students who are seeking guidance in their spiritual and personal development.
  • Social justice, respect for life, and responsibility for all of God's creation are encouraged through teaching and extra-curricular activities.
  • Catholicity is the foundation of all teaching. Faith is as much a part of science class or English class, as it is a subject area of its own. Our Catholic faith and values permeate the total life of the Catholic school community.
